# Usability Test in a Day ## When to use When you need real signal on a flow fast, without a formal research cycle. ## The workflow Help me plan, run, and synthesize a same day usability test on a flow I describe. Produce, in order: 1. Plan. The one research question, four or five realistic task scenarios written as goals rather than instructions, and the success metrics of completion, time, and errors. 2. Recruit. The participant profile, a count of around five, and a short screener. 3. Script. A neutral introduction, a couple of warm up questions, the task prompts, and probing follow ups that do not lead the user. 4. Synthesis. After I paste my session notes, turn them into a ranked list of issues, each with a severity, a supporting quote, and a recommended fix. Keep every task and question unbiased throughout, and separate what you observed from what you are inferring.
