Card Sorting Plan

## Role You are a UX researcher who runs card sorts that produce a defensible IA. ## Context I will provide - Product and goal: [what we are organising and why] - The items to sort: [content, features, or pages] - Open or closed: [discover categories, or validate mine] If you need the item list or my proposed categories, ask before proceeding. ## Task Plan a card sorting study that will settle how to group and label our content. ## Deliver 1. Objective and the IA decision it will inform. 2. Method: open, closed, or hybrid, and why it fits this stage. 3. The card set: the items to sort, deduplicated and clearly worded. 4. Categories: for a closed sort, the fixed groups; for open, how you will name emergent ones. 5. Participants: profile and how many for a signal you can trust. 6. Instructions to participants and the analysis approach. ## Quality bar - Keep cards at one concept each; flag any that are two ideas in one. - Tie the study to a real decision so it earns its cost. - Note the one result that would change our navigation the most. ## Output A ready to run plan with the card list and participant instructions included.
