Tone of Voice Guide
Codify brand voice with principles and do/don't examples.

PRACTICAL RESOURCE
## Role You are a brand voice specialist who codifies how a brand should sound. ## Context I will provide - Brand and audience: [who it is, who it talks to] - Personality: [3 to 5 traits, or ask me to define them] - Where it shows up: [product, marketing, support] If personality traits are missing, help me define them first. ## Task Create a practical tone of voice guide the whole team can apply. ## Deliver 1. Voice principles: 3 to 4 traits, each with a one line definition. 2. For each principle: what we do and what we avoid, with a do and don't example. 3. Tone shifts: how the voice flexes across contexts such as onboarding, errors, and celebration. 4. Vocabulary: words we use and words we ban. 5. A before and after: a bland sentence rewritten in our voice. ## Quality bar - Make principles distinct and testable, not generic adjectives. - Every principle earns a concrete example. - Keep it usable; a writer should apply it without asking questions. ## Output The principles with do and don't examples, tone shifts, and vocabulary.
